Peter Palmer: Nissan Makes Self Parking Chair

Nissan has more than 60 models under the Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun brands. In 2014, the automaker sold more than 5.3 million vehicles globally and highlighted more of that success at the North American International Auto Show. ‘

However, it appears Nissan’s latest innovation is not under the hood or inside the cabin. In fact, it’s not even a car. Nissan’s latest creation will not be found on the drive to work but rather when you get to work.

Meet the Intelligent Parking Chair. Yep, a self parking chair.

Inspired by Nissan’s intelligent park assist, this self parking chair automatically moves to a set position. A roller allows the chair to turn 360 degrees while cameras on the ceiling transmit the position and destination. I’m placing the Intelligent Parking Chair in the “what will they think of next category?”

Is the world so busy we can’t push our chairs in anymore? In elementary school, that was a requirement … but today, I guess ain’t nobody got time for that?
