GMC unveiled the 2017 Acadia at the North American International Auto Show last month. Pricing has now been announced: 2017 GMC Acadia will start at $29,995, over $1,900 less than the 2016 base model.
Performance
Although official EPA ratings are not available yet, Acadia’s new, 2.5 L engine is expected to return 28 mpg on the highway with FWD. GM testing shows fuel economy in the city is estimated at 22 mpg on a FWD Acadia.
Stop/Start technology, which disables the engine in traffic or at otherwise lengthy idles, is expected to increase overall fuel efficiency. A 700 lbs. weight reduction helps too.
An available 3.6L V-6 engine provides an estimated 4,000 pounds of towing when properly equipped. Like the 2.5, fuel economy ratings are not yet available; neither is power output, although GM is proposing upwards of 310 horsepower.
Technology & Safety
The 2017 GMC Acadia offers both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard. Available safety features, depending on the model, include Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and a Surround Vision camera. A standard rear seat alert reminds drivers about items left in the rear seats.
