Mitsubishi is auctioning off the last Lancer Evolution Final Edition. All proceeds go to Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. The Lancer Evolution Final Edition is the most powerful mass-produced version built by Mitsubishi. Although based on the current GSR, the Lancer Evolution Final Edition has features not found on the GSR.

Fans of the Lancer Evolution note its remarkable standing in the world of four-door sports cars.

“With its incredible combination of power, agility, and Super All-Wheel Control, the Lancer Evolution is one of the most well-known sports sedans and is revered by ‘gearheads’ around the globe,” said Mitsubishi Motors North America Executive Vice President, Don Swearingen.

Now the Lancer Evolution’s legacy benefits those in need.

“Too many people in our community are forced to make hard choices between rent and food, or medicine and food,” said Nicole Suydam, CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. “Mitsubishi’s auction of the final Lancer Evolution will make a big difference in the lives of so many men, women, and children who look to us for support every day.”

Performance

Special suspension tuning compliments a turbocharged and intercooled 2.0-liter, MIVEC DOHC 16-valve inline 4-cylinder. The engine creates 303 horsepower, mated to a 5-speed transmission. Bilstein shock absorbers and Eibach springs are paired with Brembo rotors.

Exterior

A black painted aluminum roof, gloss black center bumper and hood air outlet, and dark chrome painted Enkei alloy wheels are character traits of the Lancer Evolution Final Edition. A dark chrome front grille surround and special badges further highlight the car. Final Edition models were offered in four colors: Rally Red, Mercury Gray, Octane Blue, and a new Pearl White.

Interior

Black pillars, sun visors, and a gloss black center console are signatures inside. Red stitching further decorates the seats, steering wheel, shift knob, console lid, floormats, and e-brake handle. Mitsubishi only produced 1600 of the Lancer Evolution Final Edition – each one has a special plaque denoting their number off the assembly line.

Auction

The auction is underway now on eBay for Charity and concludes Thursday, September 15th. The auction corresponds with national Hunger Action Month, when Feeding America and member food banks encourage everyone to take a stand against hunger. According to Suydam, Mitsubishi’s commitment will go far with those in need.

“We are very grateful for their generosity,” she said.

The Lancer Evolution spanned ten generations, three of which were sold in the United States over 12 years.
