The first ever Infiniti QX30 crossover will hit showrooms next month, aimed at those with active lifestyles. As vehicles like this become increasingly popular, a special reservation program with premium gifts is being offered. Infiniti believes the Q30 will cultivate new interest in the brand.
“The all-new QX30 is a tremendous addition to the Infiniti lineup – a powerful statement of our design and technology leadership and a vehicle that we predict will bring a new generation of premium buyers into our showrooms,” said Randy Parker, Vice President, Infiniti Americas.
Exterior Styling
The 2017 QX30 radiates Infiniti’s design language through bold, dynamic curves and body lines. The automaker describes the design as both “sculpted” and “turbulent.” Standard exterior features include LED daytime running lights and auto on/off halogen headlights. LED headlights with an Active Front lighting System are also available, as is an auto high/low beam function, and LED fog lights.
Those seeking additional styling points can opt for a panoramic moonroof.
The QX30 Sport features some different character attributes, including unique front and rear lower fascias, gloss black grille, body-color side sill panels, dark chrome exhaust finishers, and 19-inch Gun Metallic aluminum-alloy wheels. The QX30 Sport also rides slightly lower than the standard QX30 2WD models.
By contrast, the QX30 Luxury AWD and QX30 Premium AWD feature unique front and rear lower fascias, extended overfenders, black mold-in color side sills, roof rails, 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, and a higher ride height.
Interior Appointments
The 2017 Infiniti QX30 provides drivers with a symmetrical and modern interior, featuring all the latest creature comforts. Every QX30 includes Bluetooth capability, Infiniti Intelligent Key, Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control, RearView Monitor, and three 12-volt power outlets.
Additional navigation and connectivity systems are available, along with a Bose 10-speaker stereo and HD radio. SiriusXM Travel Link is also standard. Other luxury connectivity comes by way of Infiniti’s InTouch infotainment system. The controls are displayed through a 7-inch touchscreen with voice recognition.
QX30 Luxury and Premium offer Nappa leather seating.
Performance & Handling
The 2017 Infiniti QX30 is more than just a pretty face.
“In addition to its striking appearance, the QX30 offers confidence-inspiring handling and an available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system, making the QX30 the ideal vehicle to take on urban, suburban, and winding rural roads in all driving conditions,” Parker said.
The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine produces 208 horsepower at 5,500 rpm, with 258 lb-ft of torque. Peak torque is available from 1,200 rpm and relayed by a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with paddle shifters.
Safety & Security
The results of a recent J.D. Power study would endorse Infiniti’s decision to include driver assistance technology in the new QX30.
Intelligent Park Assist, for example, uses 12 sensors to help fit the vehicle into a space in a packed parking lot. Intelligent Park Assist is standard on the QX30 Sport and available on QX30 Premium as part of the optional Technology Package.
Other available safety and driver assistance features include Blind Spot Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Emergency Braking.
Availability
The crossover is offered in six trim levels: QX30, Luxury, Premium, Sport, Luxury AWD, and Premium AWD. MSRP for the QX30 starts at $29,950 and ranges as high as $37,700 for the Premium AWD. Look for the 2017 Infiniti QX30 to arrive next month, with the aforementioned special reservation program going on now.
