Nissan announced the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price for the 2017 Versa Sedan. The vehicle is mostly unchanged from the current model, although a new equipment package is available. The 2017 Nissan Versa Sedan starts at $11,900 and is available in four different trim levels.
A manual transmission is standard but an automatic is optional.
Built on Nissan’s global lightweight “V” platform, the Versa is fitting for those with gas mileage at the top of their list.
Performance
All 2017 Versa Sedans come with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, creating 109 horsepower. The engine’s dual injector design provides a wider injection cycle than that of a traditional single-injection system. The smaller nozzles deliver a finer spray for stable combustion and better fuel economy.
The available Xtronic transmission employs an auxiliary gearbox with planetary gearing. The design lends itself to better gas mileage without compromising driver engagement. Nissan utilizes their D-mode step shift programming, providing the benefits of a Continuously Variable Transmission with the feel of a traditional one.
EPA estimated fuel economy with the Xtronic transmission is 31/39 city/highway and 34 combined.
Design
The vehicle is outfitted with large headlights and standard chrome plating on the grille. Nissan’s focus was a modern look that highlighted the vehicle’s efficient dimensions and packaging. Elements of the Sentra and Altima are clearly visible too.
Additional Package
A new SV Special Edition Package provides a handful of style and connectivity features. The package adds 15-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, fog lights, leather-wrapped steering wheel, color display audio, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio. It also adds Bluetooth capability, hands-free Text Messaging Assistant, and a RearView Monitor.
The SV Special Edition Package is modestly priced at $500.
Other features include a new center console and cup holder design, with a secondary 12V outlet.
Trim Levels & Pricing
The 2017 Nissan Versa Sedan S with a five-speed manual starts at $11,990. The S Plus Xtronic starts at $13,990. From there, the SV Xtronic starts $15,580, while the SL Xtronic begins at $17,140.
The 2017 Nissan Versa Sedan is available now at Nissan dealerships nationwide.
