Back to the Fifties Weekend, Minnesota State Fairgrounds

Cool Cars, Cool Duds, and Cool Dudes & Dudettes.

Thousands of classic cars, including hot rods, led sleds and cruisers, will line the streets of the Minnesota State Fairgrounds June 17th to 19th to celebrate a nostalgic trip down Memory Lane.

It’s all about soaking in the sun and taking in the petrol fumes wafting into the air.

Besides the cool cars, make sure to stop and do some people-watching. An interesting fashion trend has emerged at car shows the last few years. Out are the ‘50s jeans and white tees with slicked hair for the guys. Now tattoos and piercings are the new norm. Ladies are sporting retro chic styling and shunning the poodle skirts and pin-curls. For ladies, the “in” thing is a Rosie-the-Riveter bandana over their dyed hair, along with a Bettie Page-type outfit.
