How to Make Extra Money Mystery Shopping at Your Local Dealership

The Mystery Shopping Advantage

These days, it’s always nice to have extra cash in your pocket. Whether you are saving for a home or just want some fun money for the weekend, a little extra goes a long way. I wouldn’t have immediately thought of mystery shopping to pocket extra cash but it turns out, BestMark is a leader here.

I know what you might be thinking: mystery shopping is a scam or one of those “get rich quick” schemes where one moment, the guy is telling you his sob story, then the camera pans up to his yacht. The one he affords by only working 20 hours a week.

Yeah, okay …

Automakers are routinely looking for feedback from their customers; people like you and me ultimately. As manufacturers continue to refine their customer focus, BestMark launched their Automotive Research Study. Participants receive not only maintenance reimbursement but cash in exchange for their feedback. As for being concerned about scams, no need. BestMark is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, and based on our research, has loads of positive reviews from shoppers.

How It Works

BestMark is looking for mystery shoppers, 20 years or older, who have vehicles between 2002 and 2016 with less than 130,000 miles. Brands include Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Infiniti, Lincoln, Pontiac, and Volkswagen. If you have solid communication skills, are detail oriented, have Internet access, and a vehicle with this criteria, then you have the opportunity to make some extra money.

When you take your vehicle in for routine service, such as an oil change or tire rotation, you will be evaluating aspects of that dealership’s customer service process. BestMark will provide you a list of things to look for on your trip. Mystery shoppers have helped countless business, automotive or otherwise, identify weak points in their sales and service processes. On the opposite end of the spectrum, BestMark mystery shoppers have played a tremendous role in helping proprietors see what is working well in their business.

Car Buying

Takeaway

You get reimbursed for your vehicle’s service and some extra money, once you complete the final evaluation. One of the most exciting things for me, aside from the extra money, would be the chance to offer feedback to an automotive industry continually looking at ways to better embrace customers. At the end of last year, Ford released a volume of research about how car buyers these days are looking for a more genuine and personal approach. Working with BestMark is a sure fire way to see just how that process is playing out.

When I was at Luxury Auto Mall of Sioux Falls, our dealership routinely participated in mystery shopping. Every so often, I would get a secret shopper report on my desk. Since I was a manager, I read all of our customer comments but always placed certain significance on mystery shoppers. I always felt the presence of mystery shoppers kept us on our toes and thus, allowed us to give the best possible service to our guests.

I want to go back to school and have been setting money aside to do so. While you may not get rich mystery shopping, working with BestMark can no doubt help. Remember, this is not a “get rick quick” scheme. Tell you what – if you apply with BestMark, I will too. I will put the money towards school and you can put it towards whatever you like. This way, we will be making a little extra money and helping the automotive industry shape the way they do business.
