Devel Sixteen’s Engine Pumps Out 4515 Horsepower (W/Video)

If you thought the Germans were crazy to build a 1200 horsepower French hypercar, then the people in Dubai who are building a 5000 horsepower, hyper-mega supercar are undeniably bonkers!

Dubai based Defining Extreme Vehicles Car Industry LLC  in association with Steve Morris Engines are currently working on a 5000 horsepower hypercar, called Devel Sixteen. The mind-blowing hypercar uses a 12.3 L V16 engine, aided by four massive turbochargers. Recently, the monstrous engine was dynoed at Steve Morris Engines and produced an earth-shattering 4515 horsepower and 3519 lb.ft. torque on 36 psi of boost.

Even when the boost was reduced from 36 psi to 20 psi for “everyday” use, the massive motor still pushed out 3002 horsepower and 2407 lb.ft. torque on 92/93 octane pump gas.

If and when the Devel Sixteen becomes a reality, the car will feature the most powerful engine ever produced for a production car. The engine will also go into the record books as the most powerful motor to run on gas and will be the world’s only V16 quad-turbo engine to be installed in a production car.

If you still don’t believe what I just said above, don’t worry because even I am having a hard time believing in these ludicrous numbers. But this motor exists and you can see it in action in the video below.
